So long Lake Kathleen

Lake Kathleen was formed in the 1950’s by a dam on the Maple River in Emmet County, Michigan, where the west branch and the east branch meet. Conservationists in recent years have made the case to drain the lake, remove the dam and allow the river to return to a more pristine state, aiding fish populations. Aerial video was affected by a 100′ altitude limit in controlled airspace. The popular restaurant Dam Site Inn is nearby.
